Was born in Singaraja, Bali, Executive Chef Ketut Sumerata has always been interested in the art of Indonesian culinary from his mother since he was only 8 years old.
After finishing his Culinary study in Sekolah Tinggi Pariwisata Bali, Sumerata joined in several five-star hotels such as Bali Hyatt Resort & Spa for over 6 years from 2006 to 2012. Indonesian authentic cuisines has always been his most interest, since it uses ranges of spice which give a rich taste and exceptional taste experience.
After more than 10 years of experience in Indonesian authentic food, Chef Sumerata joined Ramayana Suites & Resort in 2018 and brought with him authentic Indonesian culinary concepts with strong passion for innovations.
His expertise contributes to the high standard and quality of every dish, such as his brand new signature Balinese dishes, such as Sate Kakul, Lawar Karangan and Rantangan, which emerged from the local and traditional story of Indonesian. All of the dishes use locally farmed ingredients.
Chef Sumerata pleasure is to liven up each dish with his personal flair. Determined and in-touch with the guests, he is the ideal addition to Gabah’s dedicated culinary team.
